Who We Are
Mindfl ("we," "our," or "us") is a meditation and mindfulness app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Mindfl mobile application and website at getmindfl.com.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Display name (if you choose to set one)
- Authentication credentials (managed securely through Firebase Authentication or Apple Sign-In)
Practice Data
To track your progress and grow your garden, we store:
- Meditation session completions and dates
- Petal balance and unlocked plant species
- Journey progress and completed lessons
- Mood selections
Journal Entries
Your reflection journal entries (text, photos, audio recordings) are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your journal content and cannot read it.
Waitlist & Email List
If you join our waitlist or create an account, we may add your email address to our email list (managed through Kit, formerly ConvertKit) so we can send you launch notifications and occasional updates about the app. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. We do not share your email with any third party for marketing.
Subscription & Purchase Data
When you purchase a Mindfl Premium subscription, Apple processes the payment and sends us a verification of your purchase status. We store the following purchase-related data:
- Whether you have an active subscription (premium claim flag in Firebase Auth)
- Subscription type (monthly or annual) and current period
- Anonymized transaction identifiers needed to verify your purchase with Apple
We do not see, store, or have access to your payment method, credit card number, or Apple ID. All payment processing is handled by Apple.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect health data
- We do not use analytics tracking or advertising identifiers
- We do not collect location data
- We do not access your contacts, camera, or microphone without your explicit action
- We do not use cookies for tracking purposes on our website
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Mindfl app
- Sync your practice progress across devices
- Deliver meditation content and manage your subscription
- Send you launch notifications (waitlist only)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the Mindfl service.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google):Authentication, content delivery, and progress sync. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Apple StoreKit:Subscription management. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is never shared with us.
- Firebase Crashlytics:Anonymous crash reports to help us fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included.
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit):Email delivery for waitlist notifications and account-related emails. Subject to Kit's Privacy Policy.
- ElevenLabs:AI voice synthesis used to generate the audio narration for our meditations. We send our written scripts to ElevenLabs to produce audio files. No user data is sent to ElevenLabs. Subject to ElevenLabs' Privacy Policy.
AI-Generated Audio
The voices you hear in Mindfl meditations and stories are AI-generated, produced using ElevenLabs voice synthesis. Every script is written by our team and is intentional. Only the voice delivery is AI-generated. We disclose this so you know what you're listening to.
Music Credits
The background music used in Mindfl meditations is composed by Music Of Wisdom and licensed from www.meditationmusiclibrary.com. All rights to the music remain with Music Of Wisdom.
Subscription, Billing & Refunds
Mindfl Premium subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID and managed by Apple. You can manage, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID Account Settings. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled directly by Apple, not by Mindfl. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not have access to refund or modify Apple subscription charges.
Data Storage and Security
Your account and practice data is stored securely in Firebase (Google Cloud). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Journal entries remain on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access your data:View your practice history and account information within the app
- Export your data:Export journal entries as PDF or CSV from the Reflect tab
- Delete your account:Permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings within the app. Account deletion removes your authentication record, your Firebase user document, your subscription claim, and your practice history. This action is immediate and irreversible.
- Update your information:Change your name, email, or profile from Settings
Data Retention
We retain your account and practice data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our active databases immediately. Backups containing the data may persist in encrypted form for up to 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted. Anonymous crash logs from Firebase Crashlytics are retained for up to 90 days. Email records in Kit are retained until you unsubscribe, after which they are removed from our marketing systems within 30 days.
Your Rights Under GDPR (EU/EEA/UK Users)
If you reside in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- The right to access, correct, or delete your personal data
- The right to restrict or object to our processing of your data
- The right to data portability
- The right to withdraw consent at any time
- The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including:
- The right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it (described above)
- The right to delete your personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information, so this opt-out is not applicable.
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Children's Privacy
Mindfl is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Mindfl after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
